#MySexySaturday THERE GOES THE GROOM

This week's theme is A Long Time Sexy about characters who have loved each other for a long time. Such is the case with Olivia Taylor and Tony Dipietro in THERE GOES THE GROOM, Book Two in my Left at the Altar series. Eight years ago Tony left Olivia at the altar, but he never stopped loving her. Olivia has tried to move on with her life but her first love still haunts her. Here's 7 sexy sentences when Tony realizes he can't walk away from her again:

A powerful emotion welled in Tony’s chest, making his voice choke in his throat and his heart pound in his chest. He laid his hand on Olivia’s dark, silky hair and gently stroked.

“You’re wrong, Liv,” he said softly. “You’re the most lovable person I know.”

With those words a door opened in his heart, and for the first time in eight years he dared to look inside.

He knew with complete certainty that he loved her, that he’d never stopped loving her all these years.

His elation at finally acknowledging the truth was quickly tempered by the knowledge that Olivia was engaged to marry another man.

My Sexy Saturday - ONE MORE SECOND CHANCE

I'm glad to be back at My Sexy Saturday! Today's theme is 'addicted to love' as in the song 'Might as well face it, you're addicted to love'. My characters Julia and Alex unexpectedly find themselves addicted to each other in my latest release ONE MORE SECOND CHANCE. The last thing Julia wants to do is to fall in love, and the last place Alex expects to fall in love is in Lobster Cove, Maine. Here's a blurb:

Dr. Alex Campbell has an agenda—finish his contract to provide medical services in Maine, pay off his medical school debt, and head back to his real life in San Diego. But when he meets Julia, all his carefully laid plans are put in jeopardy.

Julia Stewart, Lobster Cove’s high school principal, swears she’ll never let another man drag her away from the home she loves. Her aging parents need her, and the Cove is where she wants to raise her daughter. When her mother’s illness brings her and the big city doctor closer together, panic sets in. Her marriage taught her men don’t stay.

Can she put aside the heartaches of the past and trust Alex enough to accept the love he’s offering? Or will her fear of abandonment mean she’ll send him away forever?

Here's my seven paragraphs:

She took Alex’s hand and let him lead her out onto the dance floor. The band was playing a slow waltz. He linked his fingers with hers and drew her hips against his. They moved slowly, swaying seductively to the music, their gazes locked. Julia simply couldn’t look away. She was lost in a turbulent sea of desire and longing.

“Where’s Ava tonight?”

“With the Stewarts. She’s staying the night.”

The slow song ended, and the band played an upbeat tune that had everyone on their feet. They crowded onto the dance floor. Julia and Alex remained in the middle of the street, staring into each other’s eyes as people danced around them. Then he lowered his head and whispered in her ear.

“Come home with me, Julia.”

He rested his forehead against hers, waiting. Alex was the first man, the only man, she’d wanted since the end of her marriage. Their one night together had been magical. She didn’t know what to make of his assertion that he loved her. Her feelings for him were too confused to make sense of them. All she knew was that in this moment, she wanted him, needed him.

“Yes.”

FLAWLESS at #MySexySaturday

Happy Saturday! Today I've got five paragraphs from my World War II romantic suspense FLAWLESS.
Here's the blurb:

Resistance fighter Madeleine Bertrand’s  husband died when he was betrayed by Hunter Smith. How can she now pretend to be married to the arrogant American? How can she betray Jean Philippe’s memory by her passionate response to Hunter’s kisses? Neither is prepared for the maelstrom of attraction that erupts between them. To survive they must uncover the mysteries of the past and conquer the dangers of the present. But first Madeleine must decide if her loyalties lie with her dead husband and the Resistance or with the greatest love of her life.

And here's my five paragraphs:

“They’re watching us. Kiss me.”

“What?”

“Kiss me like a wife madly in love with her husband.”

His expression gave no hint of his feelings. Madeleine’s heart rate accelerated as she stared into
his eyes. She stepped into his embrace. Hunter’s arms closed around her, trapping her in a cocoon of warmth. His lips sought hers, tentative at first, and then when she opened her mouth and touched her tongue to his lips, he moaned, deepening the kiss, his tongue mating with hers. She pushed herself closer and felt his arousal against her belly. Madeleine’s hand clutched at his jacket, his shirt. She wanted to feel his skin against hers, wanted him inside her…

The hoots and catcalls of the other gardeners brought them both back to the present. Hunter broke the kiss, loosening his hold and putting a bit of distance between them, though his arms still held her. The look on his face told Madeleine that the kiss had shaken him as much as it had shaken her. She’d never lost control in public like that before. She’d loved Jean Philippe with all her heart, but he had never made her want to strip off all her clothes and have sex in front of anyone who cared to watch. God help her, if Hunter hadn’t stopped, she wouldn’t have had the strength.

My Sexy Saturday with THERE GOES THE GROOM

It's great to be back at My Sexy Saturday! Today I have a snippet from my humorous contemporary romance, THERE GOES THE GROOM. Here's the blurb:
Eight years ago Tony left Olivia at the altar. He was sure she didn't really want to marry him. Now he's back, and they're forced to work together.
Coming home isn't easy for Tony, because his father wanted him to work at a trade instead of going off to college. Their relationship is still unsteady. Even before Tony's return, Olivia began questioning the depth of her love for her fiancé, a man she chose because he was safe and reliable. Yet the last thing she wants is a loveless, faithless marriage like the one her parents suffered through.
When Tony, who never stopped loving her, insists her fiancé is the wrong man for her, Olivia sets out to prove him wrong. But the sexual chemistry between them is still strong, and so are her feelings for him. Even so, how can she break her engagement, hurt her fiancé as she was once hurt? And how can she trust Tony not to abandon her as he did before?
If anyone does the jilting this time, she will.

And here's seven paragraphs from THERE GOES THE GROOM:
Tony stood with his arms around Olivia, his hands splayed across her breasts, her abdomen. His arousal pushed against her soft backside. Her head was thrown back against his shoulder, leaving her neck exposed to the sweet assault of his mouth. Her hands rested on top of his, urging him to touch, to explore.
“Remember, Olivia?  Remember what it was like between us? Does Stuart make you feel like this? Does he make you beg for more, make you wet with wanting?”
Olivia went completely still in his arms.
“When you make love with him, do you think of me?”
She pushed herself out of his arms, her hair tousled, her face flushed. She looked like a woman who’d just been made love to, thoroughly and satisfyingly.
Olivia soon regained her equilibrium. She took a pillow from the sofa and threw it at him. Her face was flushed red with anger. “Get out!”

Tony grinned, catching the pillow and tossing it back on the sofa. “That’s very interesting. I think Freud would say you wouldn’t be so angry if you didn’t still have feelings for me.”

My Sexy Saturday - Always a Bridesmaid

Happy Sexy Saturday! I'm back with another 7 paragraph snippet from "Always a Bridesmaid", Book 3 of my Left at the Altar series. "Always a Bridesmaid" releases from Uncial Press on January 17, 2014.

In this scene, Zach comes to Dani's room to tell her she's the one he wants:

He cupped her cheek, his eyes searching hers. "Why do you do that?"

"Do what?"

"Make a joke or accuse me of being patronizing when I try to compliment you?"

Because I can't believe you mean it. "I know I'm not perfect, not in looks, not like Chantal. Far from it."

"Maybe I don't want perfect." His thumb traced lazy circles over the delicate skin under her eye. "Maybe I want sweet and kind and funny. Maybe I want someone who makes me laugh, and makes me believe happiness is possible."

She stared at him, his gaze rendering her immobile. She wanted to tell him not to say things like that to her, not unless he was very, very sure he meant them. Because if he didn't really mean it, she might not survive. But her heart lodged in her throat, making speech impossible. All she could do was pray that when he left her, her heart would still be in one piece.

Zach lowered his mouth to hers. His lips touched hers, softly, sweetly. She wanted more, so much more. She stepped closer to him, stretching on tiptoes to wrap her arms around his neck and press herself against him. His kiss changed in a heartbeat, consuming her, devouring her in a vortex of sensation and need. Nothing mattered except this moment with Zach in her arms.

My Sexy Saturday - Funny Snippet from "Always a Bridesmaid"

Happy Saturday! Here's 7 paragraphs from my soon to be released (Uncial Press, January 17, 2014) contemporary romantic comedy "Always a Bridesmaid". Zach and Dani are pretending to be boyfriend/girlfriend to fend off the unwanted attentions of Zach's former fiance Chantal. In this snippet which takes place in front of everyone at the breakfast table, Chantal is making it clear she wants Zach back, or at least wants him back in her bed. But Zach has other ideas:

He felt her hand on his knee. What game was Chantal playing? "Modern art's not my thing."
"I guess that's true. You always liked the works of the old masters better. All those Rubenesque women. But I really think you should give this exhibit a try. Perhaps you'll come to a new appreciation of the art form."
Her hand inched up his thigh. Sweat broke out on his forehead. "I don't think so. I have other interests."
"There's no reason you can't appreciate two art forms at the same time."
Her hand drifted to the top of his thigh. For the first time she looked at him, giving him a triumphant smile. Then her hand moved to his crotch.
He shot to his feet, his chair scraping against the wood floor and nearly tipping. Just at that moment, Dani entered the dining room with a bowl, and after setting it on the sideboard, turned to smile at him. He reached her in three strides, enveloping her tightly in his arms and covering her mouth with his before she had a chance to protest or even say good morning. He wanted to make sure Chantal understood in no uncertain terms that he was with Dani now.
For several heart beats, she held herself rigid. And then something remarkable happened. He felt her sigh against his mouth as her arms wound around his neck and she pressed herself against him. His own response was swift and totally unexpected. He held her close, running one hand over the lush curves of her bottom, her softness speaking to a primordial part of his being. The taste of berries on her tongue made him want to strip off her clothing to taste every inch of her naked skin. Though he was vaguely aware of people entering the room, he ignored them. Urgency built inside him, demanding to be released.
